Harbor School Visit to Harris Mid-Atlantic

Harris Mid-Atlantic hosted a group of High School Students from the Technology Academy and Tech/Engineering class of The Harbour School in Annapolis, MD.

The Harbour School has the goal “to provide a supportive, caring and individualized education to students with learning disabilities, autism, speech and language impairments and other disabilities in grades one through 12. The program is tailored to meet the individual needs of the child rather than asking the child to adapt to an existing program. The child’s learning style dictates our program. It is our mission to assist each child to attain a feeling of academic and personal achievement and success commensurate with the child’s abilities. Personal achievement includes social and vocational skills.”

Harris Mid-Atlantic provided the students a demonstration of computer automated drafting, specifically 3D modeling and the functionality of the plasma cutting table from programming to product. The goal was to show the students Technology in action. The event was a success and who knows, one of these students may be the next in line for Trade school!
