The Real Harris: Meet John Godbold

Tell us about your background. How did you get your start in the construction/service/BAS business?

I have always liked working with my hands, taking things apart and finding out how they work. I went into the Navy Seabees to serve my country, continue to learn and develop my skills. After getting out I joined the local 602 Steamfitters Union to learn more about the service and construction industry.

What drew you to Harris? What makes you stay?

I was working for RM Thornton Inc. when Harris acquired them back in 2012. Prior, I had been around Harris employees in a peer group meeting. I got to know a few of them during those meetings. I stay because I feel that Harris is a place with great expectations and a truly great work environment.
