The Real Harris: Meet Mary Kay Unitan

Tell us about your background. How did you get your start in the construction/service/BAS business?

My friend Monique worked here and recommended Harris to me after I designed something for her.  I interviewed with Brenda and was I excited by the direction Harris was going.  Here I am 5 years later and I still enjoy my job!

What do you enjoy about working at Harris (what about the company itself made you want to work here)?

The strong focus on culture and I love how we support diversity and inclusion.

What is the best part about your position (the day-to-day, people, a special project you were involved with)?

When I create a beautiful complex proposal for someone and they get excited about it and then they go on to win the job.

What traits do you think are important for someone in your role to be successful?

Multi-tasking and persistence, with ability to design and layout a project.

What are your main responsibilities and initiatives that you lead?

I do a lot of proposal coordination and presentations.  I also create Pardots and social media postings.

What are you passionate about at work?

Helping to win big projects! I love hearing the excitement and seeing the major growth year after year.

How do you like to re-charge?

Hiking with my big 85 pound Shepherd/Lab/Husky mix dog, Dakota!

What are you most proud of at Harris?

Being part of the amazing marketing team and winning the Sphere and the Pavilion Project.
