Tell us about your background. How did you get your start in the construction/service/BAS business?
“My background is in public service. I worked for Washington State Department of Transportation for many years as Fiscal Technician prior to Diamond B at the time. I decided working for state government was not for me and wanted to try something completely different.”
What drew you to Harris? What makes you stay?
“The construction industry. I wanted to work for a company that had a positive impact on the economy. Opportunities for advancement and the people are the reason why I stay.”
What is the best part of your position?
“100% the people! I get to collaborate with great people from different areas of the company that care and are very supportive in what we do.”
What traits do you think are important for someone in your role to be successful?
“Being proactive about solving problems and maintaining a good relationship with our vendors and our coworkers.”
What are your main responsibilities and initiatives that you lead?
“My main responsibilities are building relationships through sourcing, planning and purchasing materials that support the organization.”
What are you passionate about at work?
“Treating people how I would want to be treated.”
How do you like to recharge?
“Going for a run on my lunch break.”
What keeps you up at night?
“Not being able to see my family to the north because of COVID.”
What is one thing Harris employees don’t know about you?
“I’m a Canadian citizen.”
What do you wish the public knew about Harris?
“That Harris promotes a positive work environment and encourages employee growth within the company.”
What inspires you? What motivates you?
“The challenge of learning a new task or job. I’m always trying to continuously improve what I do to promote my own personal growth.”
