The Real Harris: Meet Zach Von Schneidau

Tell us about your background. How did you get your start in the construction/service/BAS business?

I kind of fell into the construction industry. I started with remodeling apartments and then found a construction company and started doing sales.

What drew you to Harris? What makes you stay?

The location first, then the people. The culture and team are what has kept me here.

What do you enjoy about working at Harris?

The honest and collaborative culture that has been created. Most individuals will drop what they are doing to help solve technical problems that arise, leading to trust among peers.

What is the best part about your position?

Always a new problem to work through. Our team collaboration creates an environment we look forward to being part of.

What traits do you think are important for someone in your role to be successful?

Drive and the ability to help problem solve. Individually, we do not know all the answers, but someone at Harris does and collaboration should be taken.

What are your main responsibilities and initiatives you lead?

Company growth. With a new team, collaboration is key. My role is to be the conduit between members and customers, if necessary.

What are you passionate about at work?

Seeing members grow. When I can physically see changing behaviors to benefit the team and help us grow.

How do you like to re-charge?

Being outside. All outdoor activities are where I spend most of my time outside work. Backcountry split boarding, mountain biking, fly fishing and backpacking with my incredible girlfriend.

What keeps you up at night?

My dogs…Honestly, forgetting about something I need to follow up on.

What are you most proud of at Harris?

The company growth and being part of a successful team.

What is one thing Harris employees wouldn’t know about you?

I’ve visited over 30 countries.

What drew you to this industry?

I fell into it, but glad I landed here.

What do you wish the public knew about Harris?

How spectacular the people are. Our group is made up of very talented people.
