Meat Conveyor
This project was a custom designed conveyor system to handle meat patties and also the same meat patties after they are put into the package for retail sale. The unpackaged product conveyors use modular belting with Harris sanitary conveyor frame design. These conveyors transport the raw product from a freezer tunnel over to a hand loading station to go into an automatic shrink wrapper. The packaged product conveyors transport the wrapped product from the shrink wrapper to an X-ray machine while spacing the product out to the required spacing for the X-ray to work properly, then transport the product to a labeling machine. After the labeler we provided a conveying system to turn some of the package sizes 90-degrees and feed a spiral freezer. This same turning conveyor also has a servo powered diverter system on it that is used to split a single lane of product into two evenly distributed lanes of product. A full control system for the servo divert system was also provided that included a guard door assembly with safety switches on 8 doors.
Harris custom-designed the conveyors due to the challenges of tight layout within the space and the challenging product due to irregular shapes and flexible packaging. The custom designs allowed the customer to save floor space and have undamaged product and transfers with no back up of the product.
