Bethel University Physician Assistant Space
The Physician Assistant Program at Bethel University provides training to students seeking jobs to fill an important and growing new role within clinics and hospital systems. Bethel University was on a fast-track to create a learning space for their new program, which involved an upgrade an existing office space to a state-of-the-art hands-on lab and classroom that would include patient simulators. Driven by enrollment, the renovation had to be done in a relatively short space of time.
The lab facilities, patient rooms and exam rooms were to be built to hospital standards. The existing space had inadequate heating and cooling systems and required upgrades. Harris rebuilt the air handling units and installed new plumbing, heating and cooling coils, a variable air volume air distribution system, and also oversaw a complete controls system upgrade. Occupancy sensors were installed to ramp down the HVAC systems.
Working with M.A. Mortenson’s Higher Education team in an occupied building, Harris completed the work on-time and within budget, with efficient noise and debris control.
