Churchill Downs Oak Grove

Harris was awarded the HVAC and plumbing package for the new Churchill Downs race and Gaming Facility in Oak Grove, Kentucky. This face-paced project includes a 150,000-square-foot gaming and entertainment venue, a 128-room hotel, race-day and overnight stables, an equestrian center, amphitheater, an RV park and maintenance buildings.

Harris will install 24 miles of pipe and 380,000 pounds of sheet metal duct during the underground plumbing work. This will require approximately 80 craft workers at peak manpower to meet the tight schedule.

Yates Construction awarded this project on a “best value” basis. Harris was awarded this project due to our robust team of BIM experts, the knowledge and experience of our Project Management team and our plan to meet the aggressive project schedule utilizing our national reach for labor resources.
