ESPN Studio + Offices
Harris was awarded the contract for the new ESPN Studio at The Linq Hotel along the Las Vegas Strip. The project will include 2,300 square feet of new studio space and 2,400 square feet of renovated office space. The new studio will be ESPN’s Vegas hub during major sporting events along with other related content.
Harris will provide both HVAC and plumbing for both the studios and office space. There will be three different studios built that overlook the strip towards Caesar’s Palace. The studios will be sound proof and have vibration isolation to create a soundproof environment for TV filming. The renovated office space will have new HVAC, new VAV branch lines for heating and cooling, along with new temperature controls.
Location is a challenge for the duration of construction. The project is located on the second level with limited access to materials. It is also underneath the Fly Linq Zipline. There is heavy traffic around the area 24/7. Harris must carefully plan the craning of materials up to the second floor.
The project is scheduled to be completed in January 2020.
