La Paz Regional Hospital
La Paz Regional Hospital’s new, 9,158 square foot surgical addition provides two surgical suites for major operations and two procedure suites for minor operations. The building was designed to create an open yet efficient work space, allowing patients to flow smoothly between areas while maximizing the number of people using the facility.
Harris Mechanical Southwest provided the complete plumbing and medical systems for the addition. The project required multiple shutdowns of the existing hospital’s facilities in order to install the new systems and equipment. Most challenging, the main oxygen tank had to be relocated so the new facility could be built. Harris managed this complication through a careful sequence designed to disrupt the hospital’s operation for as short a time as possible.
Harris also installed water softening systems, complete RO systems, and new hot water circulation pumps. The project was completed on schedule in December of 2009.
