Prescott VA Mental Health Building
Harris was chosen to install the plumbing and HVAC for the Prescott VA Mental Health Building. The plumbing systems were cast iron underground waste piping, cast iron above ground waste and vent piping. The domestic water systems are standard copper with re-circulated hot water systems. The systems did not require any special medical gases or special equipment, making installation easier.
On the HVAC side, Harris installed a 48 well geothermal piping system, including site piping to the mechanical room that meets two VRF condensing units. The interior system is a VRF system to include refrigerant piping systems to all of the system components. The team also installed a condensate drains, along with an interior mechanical room including pumps and piping systems. The building has one ERV unit to provide the building exhaust and the outside air for the interior spaces. The duct systems are all per SMACNA standards. DDC controls were required for this building and to complete testing and balancing.
The project consisted of standard systems that made for a smooth, routine install for the team.
