East Valley Rehabilitation Hospital Addition
Thanks to the efforts of the project team during the original East Valley Rehabilitation Hospital build-out, Harris was invited back to perform the construction of the 20-bed addition. With the addition of new patient rooms, this new facility also required room for additional support staff including an expanded dining area and new nursing stations.
Harris performed all HVAC, plumbing and medical gas piping for the 11,060-square foot expansion. Tie-ins were made to the existing plumbing and medical gas systems, but a new HVAC system was also required for the addition.
The new HVAC system is comprised of a new roof air handler, variable air volume boxes, ductwork and direct digital controls. To streamline the construction process, M.J. Harris Construction Services coordinated the efforts of all subcontractors and the team participated in a full BIM effort. The project was completed as scheduled in December 2010.
