Mayo Clinic Gonda Building
The Mayo Clinic is at the center of the community in Rochester, Minnesota employing thousands of people and treating patients from all over the world. It offers an integrated healthcare environment where patients can benefit from the knowledge of many different specialists.
The 20-story, 2,000,000-square foot Gonda Building was designed with the present and future in mind. It is a highly flexible facility that allows expansion and redesign for the ever-changing healthcare environment. The building has a flexible infrastructure that includes HVAC and other services that allow for growth, as well as various clinical uses on each floor.
Harris provided the HVAC piping, plumbing, medical gas piping, domestic water and sheet metal work for this project completing the infrastructure of all 20 floors and the fit-up of the first 10 floors. The remaining 10 floors were finished under multiple contracts over the course of a four-year period as each specialty moved into the new facility.
