VA Lafayette Building

The Lafayette Building Veterans Administration Tenant Improvement project was a GSA modernization of an approximately 281,000 gross square-foot warm-lit shell. The modernization required an interior fit-out to meet the needs of the veterans.

The administration space fit-out included office spaces, core conference spaces, a training room, computer rooms, audio/visual studios and storage spaces. All the areas required interior finishes, suspended ceilings, light fixtures and adjustment of the protection systems. During construction, the building remained fully functional and partially occupied which required Harris to coordinate a phased construction plan. The project was awarded LEED Silver.

Harris installed 17 new 4-pipe FCU’s, 5 new chilled water CRAC units, 2 new water-cooled AC split systems, exhaust fans, ductwork, air and water balance, ATC by Siemens, 15 new pantry sinks with piping, 3 new water closets, 2 new lavatory, 3 new floor drains and 1 new urinal and 1 new emergency shower/eyewash.
