Harris becomes Harris, a unified company with regional offices across the United States.

Harris Mechanical Southwest Controls Division in Phoenix, AZ is formed.

Capital City Controls in Capitol Heights, MD is formed.

R.M. Thornton, Inc. in Capitol Heights, MD is acquired and begins operating under the RM Thornton Mechanical division name.

Harris Companies expands the Harris Controls division with the acquisition of Wasatch Controls in Salt Lake City, UT.

Superior Air Handling division in Clearfield, UT is acquired.

Greg Hosch is named CEO of Harris Companies.

Climate Control in Phoenix, AZ is acquired and begins operating under Harris Mechanical Southwest division name.

Harris’s St. Paul fabrication shop and HiMEC consolidate to form Midwest Fabrication and Supply in Zumbrota, MN.

The Harris Service division expands with the opening of a regional office in Salt Lake City, UT.

Greg Hosch is named President of Harris Companies.

HiMEC Conveyors and HiMEC At Home are formed operating out of Rochester, MN.

Quality Plumbing and Heating is consolidated into newly acquired HiMEC, Inc. and begins to operate under the HiMEC Mechanical division name.

HiMEC, Inc. in Rochester, MN is acquired.

Harris Mechanical Intermountain division is formed operating out of Salt Lake City, UT.

Harris Controls division is formed operating out of St. Paul, MN.

Harris Mechanical Contracting moves to a newly built corporate office at the current location at 909 Montreal Circle, St Paul, MN.

Paul Thornton takes over as President of Harris Mechanical Contracting.

Quality Plumbing and Heating in Rochester, MN is acquired.
1986
Harris Service division is formed in St. Paul, MN.
1983
Harris Mechanical Contracting incorporates with Robert Hosch as President.
1983
Owners Ron Harris and Sheldon Stewart sell the various Harris Stewart Companies divisions to three employees with Robert Hosch purchasing Harris Mechanical Contracting and Allied Metal Craft, Bob Tippler purchasing Hunt Electric and Northwestern Service Incorporated, and Colin Barnett purchasing the remaining divisions.

Young journeyman/pipefitter Robert Hosch joins Harris Stewart Companies in the Estimating Department.
1968
Harris Stewart Companies moves to 2300 Territorial Road in St. Paul, MN and experiences dramatic growth over the following years with the development of the Harris Mechanical Contracting division and the startups of Northstar Fire Protection, Northwestern Service Incorporated, Allied Metal Craft, Hickory Insulation and Hunt Electric.
1959
Charles Harris turns the company over to his son Ron Harris and his son-in-law Sheldon Stewart and the company becomes Harris Stewart Companies.
1954
Charles Harris buys the Yoerg’s Brewery Company building and moves his business to 229 Ohio Street in St. Paul, MN.
1948
After spending the previous 17 years building the Harris Brothers business with his brother Aaron, Charles Harris sets out on his own and establishes Charles Harris Plumbing Company operating at 474 University Ave, St. Paul, MN.
