Bay Area Rapid Transit Hayward Station

The Bay Area Transit Hayward Station project was a service facility warehouse for BART and is located right next to the rail in Hayward, California. The project was a 135,000-square-foot building that included mostly warehouse space with some offices. The warehouse included under floor radiant piping to provide a comfort level for the client. Harris provided all of the plumbing, HVAC and ductwork on this project. The project was new construction which included plumbing underground all the way to trim out.

A challenge during construction was the seismic design was not clear on what factor was to be used. Harris worked with the seismic engineer to better determine what was needed to meet the design requirements and be code compliant.
