MPS Building Automation Systems Upgrades
Harris Controls has worked with the Minneapolis Public School District since 2007 on a variety of projects. Our work has included five phased projects that upgraded the Building Automation Systems (BAS) in more than 40 schools, and an additional 35 projects in other facilities that were part of deferred maintenance or mechanical upgrade projects. These projects involved one of the largest installations of the Honeywell WEBs-AX JACE Controllers in the Upper Midwest. From modular control to seamless integration, WEBs-AX offers a range of options for meeting nearly any size or type of building or network facilities.
Some of the key challenges of the conversion process involved working through compressed schedules (10 projects in the summer of 2014 alone) and on upgrades completed in occupied schools during the winter months. With the successful replacement of both pneumatic and legacy control systems, both energy savings and comfort improvements have been made.
