Phoenix Union Coding Academy
Harris provided and installed the mechanical equipment and condensate piping for the Phoenix Union Coding Academy. This new, 40,693-square foot school contains classrooms, maker’s lab, divided classroom with moveable walls, two labs and a full gym/cafeteria.
The project included several specialty features which Harris was able to install successfully. For the lab spaces, Harris installed stainless steel lab exhaust ductwork and performed the welding in-place. Some areas required grease ductwork. The gym and maker’s lab spaces featured exposed ductwork which Harris took extra care to install.
Pre-planning and coordination were key to the successful completion of this project. Harris had to set all the rooftop equipment in one day. The team also worked to reconfigure the ductwork so that it wouldn’t clash with the moveable classroom walls the customer required.
This was a successful project for CORE Construction and Harris, and has led to new work at Phoenix Union High School District’s Linda Abril Education Academy.
