HARRIS ACQUIRES UPPER MIDWEST’S DIVISION 23 MECHANICAL SERVICES
(ST. PAUL, Minn.) – Harris, a leading national mechanical contractor, has acquired Minnesota-based Division 23 Mechanical Services, a valued provider of commercial and industrial HVAC startup, service, preventative maintenance and warranty repair work. Incorporated by Harris, the D23 Mechanical team is now led by Harris’ Tom Danley, vice president, Service + Building Automation.
“Harris is a great fit for Division 23,” says Division 23 Mechanical Founder Matt Bennerotte. “This acquisition allows us to grow what we have spent 11 years building and expand what we can offer to our customers through the larger portfolio of Harris’ services.”
The acquisition brings together Harris’ multifaceted expertise in design and engineering, construction, building automation, service (which includes comprehensive plumbing and controls know-how), manufacturing and conveyors with D23 Mechanical’s technical proficiency, extensive central plant services capabilities, depth of talent and a proven track record of servicing customers.
“Combining our HVAC expertise means service, performance and cost benefits for customers,” says Danley. “Bringing our companies together is about Harris’ fundamental commitment to be that one consistent collaborator – that value-driven, reliable partner – customers can count on to get their building or facility operating at its peak. And if it’s not, we’ll find out. Not only that, we’ll use our expertise and experience with technology tools and data analytics to uncover why, and then present viable solutions.”
Knowing energy consumption, air quality and environmental conditions are top-of-mind for owners and occupiers, Harris’ concerted, hands-on approach optimizes what matters most – efficiency, comfort and cost. Harris’ in-house team also services and installs all major OEM brands and specializes in non-propriety building automation equipment. Both afford options so customers can feel confident they’ve made the best operational investment for their structure.
“Americans, on average, spend about 90 percent of their time indoors,” adds Bob Swanger, executive vice president, Service + Building Automation, Harris. “That’s a significant stat that shows owners and occupiers can’t afford equipment downtime and shouldn’t bear uncomfortable or inefficient spaces. We do everything we can to safeguard building systems function as they should, or even better.”
