Drone Video Captures Harris’ Chiller Crane at Providence Academy

(ST. PAUL, Minn.) – Harris recently completed a crane pick at Providence Academy in Plymouth, Minn. The project consisted of lifting off the old air-cooled chillers, preparing the existing steel structure to accommodate the new chillers, setting the new air-cooled chillers, and then piping them. The project was a combined effort between service, building automation and construction. Harris had a tight schedule on the project as it needed to take down both chillers simultaneously leaving the campus without cooling. To minimize shutdown time, Harris utilized CAD to prefabricate all pipe, which was onsite and flown up by the crane the day of the chiller pick. Harris was able to set both chillers and have them piped in only two days.

Energy efficiently upgrades at Providence, which included modifications to the building automation system as well as savings opportunities identified through Telemetry^®, led to an energy cost savings of $80,834 or approximately a 29.7% reduction in energy spend over a six-month period. Harris expects additional energy savings with the installation of the new and more efficient chillers.
