Harris Acquires JMS Integrated Building Solutions, Expanding Into Texas
(Dallas, TX) – September 11, 2026 – Harris, one of the nation’s leading mechanical contractors, announced acquisition of JMS Integrated Building Solutions today. JMS is a building automation systems integrator serving the Dallas/Fort Worth and greater Texas market since 2007. The acquisition adds JMS’s expertise in open protocol integration to Harris’s expansive building automation platform and expands Harris’ regional presence into Texas. Jim Shadley, founder and CEO of JMS, will remain on as regional leader.
Harris was founded in 1948 and has grown to more than 4,000 employees across 21 regional offices, with capabilities spanning building automation, design, construction, service and manufacturing.
JMS built its reputation as a Distech Controls authorized system integrator, working with Tridium and the Niagara Framework to design and install systems that give building owners direct control over their facilities. Its EC-Net integration platform pulls together dissimilar protocols such as LON, BACnet and Modbus into a single interface, a capability that expands what Harris’s Building Automation team can now offer customers nationwide.
