Harris 85% complete with work at US Bank Stadium

As of February 1, 2016, our stadium team eclipsed the 85% completion mark at U.S. Bank Stadium and continues to push the schedule towards completion in July, 2016.

On the outside, the distinctive building enclosure system is almost finished and features metal wall panels, glass curtain walls, operable doors and a translucent roof system.  Inside, construction crews are shifting focus from rough-in activities to interior finishes as club areas, concessions, suites, restrooms, locker rooms, offices and back-of-house areas are completed. The aggressive finish schedule allowed U.S. Bank to hold its December annual meeting in the Viking Club.  The artificial turf playing field will begin installation in May.

At this time, Harris plumber, pipefitter and sheetmetal crews total approximately 125.  Several areas on the north side of the stadium are complete – plumbing fixtures set, HVAC diffusers mounted, food service equipment hooked-up and punchlist in progress.

Our most challenging work activities in the stadium’s upper bowl area are complete:

  • Supply Air Duct – Full perimeter 84” diameter supply duct supported off upper bowl catwalk.
  • Storm Drain – Storm drain and overflow piping connected to five riser locations up to 24” diameter.
  • Snowmelt System – Snowmelt tubing installed in 80,000′ of upper snow gutter.

The long hours spent preplanning and coordinating this work allowed for a safe, efficient and timely installation. We are thankful for all our construction partners and employees that have dedicated themselves and delivered on their commitments thus far.
