Harris Ranks Among Largest Phoenix-Area Mechanical Contractors
(ST. PAUL, Minn.) – Harris, a leading national mechanical contractor, today announced its Phoenix, Arizona regional office has been named to Phoenix Business Journal’s List of Largest Phoenix-Area Mechanical Contractors, ranking among the top 25.
The list is ranked by 2021 local (Maricopa and Pinal counties) gross sales. Other information points included the number of local employees, specialty services, top local executive, year founded locally and a partial list of recent construction projects.
Harris’ office operating in Arizona focuses on service and building automation, which includes designing and supplying building automation and access controls for Arizona’s first Living Building Challenge building, the Sonoran Studio project in Phoenix, says Ed Brittain, general manager, Service + Building Automation, Harris.
Working directly for the building’s owner and architecture and design firm, Architectural Resource Team (A|R|T), Harris is providing monitoring, metering and building automation to ensure the high-tech, resilient building functions as it should. That functionality includes components such as controls that will allow windows to open based on outdoor air temperature, metering of the building’s electrical usage, monitoring of the water that comes into the 10,000-gallon rainwater collection system, and the remaining domestic and wastewater systems.
Harris’ Service + Building Automation team in Phoenix also serves as a controls subcontractor for large mechanical contractors in the region as the skill is so specialized, building automation services are not always available within a large outfit or mechanical companies may have smaller controls group. Harris’ Special Projects group also delivers smaller construction jobs, as well as retrofit projects.
