Harris’ Innovative Design Studio Showcased in Video
(ST. PAUL, Minn.) – What better way to illustrate depth of knowledge than to capture the expertise in action – through video storytelling. That’s exactly what Harris is doing to demonstrate how the leading mechanical contractor’s team members and project work stand out above the rest.
Featuring its in-house Design Studio, Harris’ Design + Engineering Video is the first to debut in “The REEL Harris” expertise video series. The piece underscores Harris’ uniquely collaborative approach to engineering and design where teams prioritize planning, as well as understanding client needs and goals while addressing any concerns along the project’s way. With in-action footage and interviews, customers, prospects, partners and stakeholders see how Harris is challenging the status quo and bridging the gap often seen between construction and design.
“We’ve created something pretty unique in the industry and it’s making a difference in how today’s buildings and facilities perform,” says John Gregory Williams, vice president, Harris Design Studio. “There’s been a general lack of communication between construction and design in the built community. We’re changing that.”
Through the Design Studio, Harris’ team of innovative and skilled designers, engineers, preconstruction experts and building-simulation specialists provide owners with a holistic approach to create efficient, cost-effective and sustainable building systems. Adds Williams, “everything we do is based on our understanding that a customer partnership relies on consistent communication, trust and transparency – from start to finish.”
Creating the videos means a lot to team members as well. Adds Williams, “Having the opportunity to be involved in the collaborative process of making this video was really valuable for our Studio team. It allowed us to take a step back from our daily activities and think about why we enjoy doing what we do at Harris.”
Harris’ Angela Mork, director, Marketing + Communications, is leading the effort to gather behind-the-scenes work at offices and jobsites nationwide to show how Harris’ collaborative approach to providing mechanical systems improves how buildings perform – saving energy, increasing efficiency and enhancing occupancy comfort.
With a fundamental belief that remarkable people create remarkable results, Harris first told the story of its employees and company values by releasing a Culture Video which shares personal sentiments from team members across the country about what makes Harris a special place. The piece displays Harris’ ongoing commitment to become a destination workplace – fostering employee engagement, hard-work, safety, results, transparency, continuous improvement, open dialogue, personal development, unity and fun.
Mork shares how much she and Harris as a whole appreciate the time team members and project crews are taking to tell the mechanical contractor’s story, adding, “What better way to encapsulate what makes Harris different than by showing our teams in action,” she says. “We’re so proud of how poignantly our employees have shared what we do and why it matters to customers.”
A Harris Overview Video will follow soon, along with additional expertise video features.
