Power Plant as Tourist Attraction

The University of Minnesota’s effort to turn a century-old heating plant on campus into a clean source of heat and power isn’t quite finished, but the $113 million project is already gaining national and international attention. Harris Acquires Las Vegas Mechanical Contractor

St. Paul-based Harris Cos., a mechanical contractor, said Wednesday it has acquired Quality Mechanical Contractors, which is based in Las Vegas. Terms were not disclosed. Harris said the acquisition looks to enhance its footprint in the western United States. Quality Mechanical will serve as a Harris division while retaining its name. Harris Acquires Summit Mechanical

St. Paul-based Harris Companies has purchased Summit Mechanical, the mechanical and commercial plumbing divisions of St. Paul-based Summit Fire Protection Company.
