Park Nicollet Women’s Center at Methodist Hospital

Harris provided both plumbing and HVAC services for the Park Nicollet Women’s Center at Methodist Hospital located in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. The design-build project included a 30,000-square foot build-out on the fifth floor of the existing hospital. Work included the installation of a new 35,000 cubic feet per minute custom air handling unit installed in the penthouse above. Sheraton Woodbury Hotel

Harris provided design-build services to JE Dunn Construction to build a new five-story hotel in Woodbury, Minnesota. This 150-room hotel serves corporate clients and business travelers in the eastern suburbs including 3M, Anderson Windows and HealthEast. Hotel amenities included a full-service kitchen, restaurant, bar, exercise room, indoor pool, and meeting and event space. Novus Pacific Plant

Harris helped Novus Energy LLC design and build a mobile demonstration plant. The demonstration plant is a trailer-mounted, waste-to-energy conversion system which is fully integrated with its own automated control system. The system is a completely functional plant capable of converting high-solid organic materials to methane-rich bio-gas, organic fertilizer and clean water. Children’s Hospital Pharmacy Relocation

Harris construction and controls teams collaborated on this state-of-the-art inpatient pharmacy conveniently located on the first floor of the hospital. The pharmacy relocation project was a complete design-build effort aiming to transform an existing hospital space into a new inpatient pharmacy that satisfied the needs of the Minneapolis Children’s Hospital. Qteros Cellulosic Ethanol Fermentation Plant

Qteros is a biofuel startup that produces ethanol from various biomass feedstocks. The cellulosic ethanol fermentation pilot plant can produce about 1,000 gallons of ethanol from biomass sources such as wood chips and fibrous plant residues. Harris furnished equipment, design engineering and installation services, working closely with Qteros to integrate used owner furnished equipment and new equipment to build the pilot plant. NIH West Vault Upgrade and Chilled Water System

Washington National Cathedral HVAC Upgrade

Washington National Cathedral was first air conditioned in the mid-1970s by Harris who installed large air handlers to bring in air from the outside and recycle air from the interior. However, the Cathedral did not have the resources at the time to add the pipes and chiller to cool the vast interior. Children’s National Medical Center Chiller Plant

Historically, Washington Hospital Center supplied the Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC) its chilled water needs. Because of the planned expansion of the Washington Hospital Center, CNMC had to build its own facility within a tight timeframe. CNMC turned to Harris, a long time preferred mechanical contractor, to serve as the prime contractor for the entire project. Xcel Prairie Island Administration Building

Xcel Energy needed a new administration building near the site of its Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant. The building was designed to house more than 300 employees and save Xcel money on energy costs. Harris completed the HVAC, plumbing, piping and temperature controls for the new building.
